So you give more information about what you might even be referring to
first - and as much other detail about how you got into this situation, what
you have tried to do to remedy it, what your level of computer-knowledge
is - etc... And then someone might be able to help.

How To Ask Questions The Smart Way
Ok, I found out that i couldnt download anything so i asked around and figured out it was because i wasnt on an administrator account. So i dont know what to do now because, I didnt know that we were on another account. The name hasnt changed. So, i was wondering if there was a way to see all the accounts to the computer.

Shenan said:Okay - what that message states is that you are not a member of the
Administrators group.
That makes it pretty official.
In order to do many things (install software, etc) - you must be a
member of the administrators group. It is a good thing to use your
computer normally as someone who is *not* a member of said group.
However - that ebing said you have to know how to gain access to an
account that is a member of the adminstrators group.
If you have Windows XP Home Edition...
Reboot in Safe Mode and log in as the user "administrator" (sans the
quotes.) There is a possibility the password is blank - so you
will enter nothing for the password of this account...
If you have Windows XP Professional Edition (or Media Center
Edition)... Log off the computer (or reboot) and at the 'Welcome
Screen" - where you would normally click on your user - pres
CTRL+ALT+DEL twice.. (All three keys, at once - twice in a row -
kinda quickly.) Enter the username "administrator" (sans the
quotes) and tryt entering no password and log in.
That is the base administrator account.
It cannot be erased - but it can be renamed.
My suggestion to you... (After you get logged into an
administrative level account..)
1) Give the administrator account a password. Make it one that you
can remember.
2) Create another administrative level account - assign it a
password - make it one you can remember but different from the main
administrator account's password.
Keep your account limited and when you need to install something or
do something 'administrative', use the second account you created
above.
The second account should show up on the welcome screen - no matter
if you have Windows XP Home Edition or Windows XP Professional.
What will throw a real monkey wrench in the works is if you cannot
get into an administrative level account now because either it has
been renamed or someone put a password on the account already and
no one knows/remembers it. Doesn't make things impossible - just
more difficult.
Ok i guess the "monkey wrench" has been put into this. I can't get
into the administrator account. We're on the professional edition.
So should i contact someone to fix it or will you be able to tell
me?
