Accounting Format Problem

Oops...hit send on accident...anyway:
I've applied the "ACCOUNTING" format one column of cells,
but halfway down the column, the format is different. It
is supposed to look like "$ -" when there is a zero
dollar amount, but the remaining cells look like "$
(0.00)." I've copied the desired formatted cell by
dragging, copy and paste, and copy and paste link (paste
format).

This spreadsheet is in a check register format, so there
are formulas in each of this specific column's cells
(example: E48-C49+D49).

Any other suggestions?

I would guess that you have a "rounding" problem and not a format problem.

$ (0.00) in the accounting format usually denotes a negative.
Your calculations may result in a minus out to three decimal places, forcing
the negative return, but with only 2 decimal places set to display, all you
see is a negative.

When dealing with money, it's always a good idea to use a rounding function
in conjunction with your calculating formulas.
