I have in stalled BCM and imported a database .csv file that i had. When i
view company names they show last name first. I have gone into tools and
account settings, asked for change and selected BCM accounts address book and
then asked to change format. shutdown outlook bcm and restarted but no
changes happened.

Did you import the CSV into Accounts or Business Contacts?

Then I import a CSV file with a column "Name", with a value of "Acme
Corp", mapped to the Account Name field, I end up with Account Name
"Acme Corp" in the new Account.

Perhaps we have different versions of BCM.

I have just worked out what the problem was. I imported into the Accounts
section from a straight excel file. What caused the issue was that in Tools,
Options, Contact and Notes, Contact Options the default select the default
for how to file new contacts was set as Last, First. Reversing this to first,
last solved the problem and i was able to import in my database of accounts
without transposing them.
Must say purely by accident i found this, no mention in any help to look here.

My worry now is how i am going to bring in my contacts and map them to the
accounts. Having seen the other posts its seems that is not posible so sadly
i may have to revert back to ACT after all.
