Account Lockouts after password change

G

Guest

We run a Windows 2000 Active Directory in native mode. We are getting frequent problems with accounts being locked out after a user changes their password, often after a password expiration has occurred. After changing their password their account locks out a number of times during the day for no reason
Most clients are running Windows XP

We ran into a number of issues but were able to track a lot of them down
with help from the following.

A lot of the problem was users logged onto more than one machine and mapped
drives pointed to machines with the old credentials. The tool that allows
you to look at multiple event viewers was a huge help.

Just to jump into the fray, those tools are really invaluable to account
lockout issues. I register the acctinfo.dll and place LockoutStatus.exe in
the appropriate location on each and every Domain Controller that I manage
and have the other tools readily available. It really makes things easier
when dealing with this issue.

I registered the acctinfo.dll on my helpdesk's computers.
The extra tab of information is exactly what they need.
However, they do not get the extra tab when they go to the
properties of a user from the "Find" window.
Am I missing a step? I have not seen this problem
addressed and it is very frustrating for our help desk
staff.
Thanks in advance,
Scobee
