account lockout

I enabled account lockout and all of a sudden my dial up
users are getting locked out. Only the dial ups are
effected. The users say they are not entering the wrong
password. They are just getting locked out. They do get a
number of busy signals before successfully getting into
the network at all. This is common for them. Could this
be part of the issue?

Hello Darren.

I recommend taking a look at the account lockout troubleshooter available
here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...90-a13b-4977-a4fc-3e2b67e3748e&DisplayLang=en

You will want to enable security auditing to determine why the dial-up users
are causing account lockouts. It is likely that they are passing
credentials to domain resources that only exist on their local computer.
You may want to try to logon to a dial-up system using the logon option "log
on using dial-up networking". This causes the system to dial the connection
before logging the user on (and may bypass where the bad credentials are
being generated).
