Accidentally deleted and recreated partion

I think I must have deleted the partion on my backup
drive (40gig WD). The partion has been restored but I
have not formated the drive. I need to recover the data
badly! The drive was previously formated NTFS. My
Computer sees the drive but reports it has not been
formated. What can I do to recover my data?
