Accessing Status Bar in VSTO add-in

We're using VSTO (Visual Studio 2008) for developing a PowerPoint add-in. We
would like to access PowerPoint's status bar (though we're able to access
status bars of Word & Excel), but we're not finding a way. Is there a way to
access status bar?
