Accessing software for external hard drive

A few weeks ago I replaced the hard drive of my laptop as its too
crowded and some windows files are corrupted such as I can't do any
drag and drop anymore.
Now this PC is connected to a port replicator where an audio speaker
is also connected.
At this point the PC functions normally, except for the fact that the
external audio speaker connected to the port replicator is non
functional.
Which means that the old hard drive and the pc are connected.
I would like to know if its possible to transfer the functionality of
that odl hard drive such as the settings for the port replicator to
the new hard drive?

Just install all the proper hardware device drivers from the laptop
manufacturer web page (support and downloads) onto your laptop for whatever
OS you have.

If you did a "Clean Install" of XP and moved your files and
folders over to the new drive along with installing your
applications, there is still one thing you need to do.

Installed the drivers for your laptop from the manufacture's
web site. You should see XP drivers for the motherboard,
video, sound, network and of course the port replicator.

After installing "ALL" the drivers check 'Device Manager' for any
items in the list that have a Yellow mark (?), that means you
didn't or forgot to install a driver for that device.
