Hi all
Appreciate if someone can advise me how to find freeware that warns against
potentially unsafe websites by showing a green icon for safe sites. I had
this feature previously but have since lost it.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Frank:

Along with PA Bear's #1 solution for most, I've been trying Web of Trust
for a few months too and I like it:

IE7 and IE8 along with other browsers like firefox have phishing filters. You
can download and enable phishing filters. To read more about phishing filters
please search for this word on microsoft.com. Apart from that you also have
windows defender that works great. It automatically updates with windows
update. My advise would be to install IE8. IE8 now has support for DEP which
reduces the attack serface for melicious code. The IE8 official website
explains the entire effort being made by microsoft to increase security. Hope
this helps.

That feature is available as part of AVG Antivirus free version.

Thanks for your and others replies.
I was aware of the problems with IE8. It took me two days to revert back to
a normal IE7 usage .
Have a good day.
