accessing RDP on remote machine PCIgina.dll error

IT Team

Hi

I am having a problem with one of our windows 2003 servers where all of a
sudden I am not able to login using RDC.

It comes up with the following error but it comes up briefly and then
immediatly exits out of RDC.

The error is:

You cannot initiate a Remote Desktop Connection because the Windows logon
software on the remote computer has been replaced by incompatible software
PCIgina.dll

To correct this problem, please have the administrator of the remote
computer contact the program vendor for a version that is compatible with
Windows.

Has anyone suffered this problem and is there a way to resolve. Quite
suprisingly I wasn't able to find a solution using google.

thanks

Quoted from other post: "Replacement GINA DLLs used by 3rd party networking
and remote access products can prevent Windows XP from allowing the use of
the new Welcome Screen and User switching. To resolve this issue, click
Start, Run and enter REGEDIT. Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\WinLogon.

In the right pane, right click on the entry for GinaDLL and select Delete"

Or refer to this link:
Winlogon may fail if the third-party Gina.dll file is missing or corrupted -
