accessing programs after re=install XP

i hope someone can help me with this. my boys computer
monitor went blank, i went into safe mode and got a black
screen with safe mode in all four corners and the centre
top of the screen and nothing else. could not do a
thing. so i inserted xp pro disc and did an install
everything is hunky dorey and it runs better than ever.

my problem is

all the programs, ie norton system works, pop up cop,
pest control, spysweeper etc that are still in the
computer when i go to my computer, programs, etc i can
see them all there, every single one. how do i get them
to function, how do i bring bring them to the desktop i
had my norton antivirus disc so that was no prob to do
but i have no discs for the others. hoping someone can
help, and seeing as all the programs are still in the
computer i should be able to activate them again shouldnt

When you launch the Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs,
can you see the programs you believe are installed on your
PC?

no i cannot see these programs in add/remove i can only
see them in start, my computer, c drive, programs etc

If you cannot see them there then this means that they are
not installed. You must re-install them. Sorry.

thank you so very much foryour help. i figured that
would be the thing to do. some programs i could use
again ie, window washer and some files i could get back.
ok now my next question do i just leave these programs in
my computer as is ie dont touch or do i delete them
before re-installing new ones.

Just re-install the programs. Don't worry about the old stuff.
