accessing my access program

i have setup the startup on my access program. i am now not able to get into
the forms to edit them. i have seen someone manage to get back into a fully
editable version before by pressing some keys on the keyboard while clicking
on the program icon. is this possible? if so how is it done as i need to
change some of the designs.

Hold the Shift key while opening the database.
