Accessing Cubes -- Pivot Tables vs. Cube Analysis Add-In?

Hi,

I am accessing some cubes created with Analysis Services on SQL 2005.

Wondering if anyone has a link to a website or document that can detail the advantages (if any) of using the Cube Analysis add-in to Excel 2003 to access these cubes versus creating an external data connection to the OLAP cubes through the standard Pivot Tables functionality.

So far I am not seeing the value of this Cube Analysis add-in and was trying to find something to either back-up or change my opinion.

Careful with that cube analysis addin. One side effect that it has is that it
turns events off and then neglects to reset them when it is done. This means
that any macros you have that use event handlers such as on open or on change
will no longer work properly. It is a royal pain.
