Accessing "C:\Windows\System32" files

I can't remember how to get to these files..can anyone help?

I ran an anti ad/spyware program..and it found this
file.."C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winfgnet_1.dfile"
says it belongs to "Subsearch' program and flagged at being 'dangerous'...

Would like to be able to find it myself and delete the dang thing!

And yes I am familiar with deleting things in the systems registry without
dicking up the computer.

Any 'sound' advice will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Go to Folder Options (in Control Panel or from the Tools menu of an
Explorer window) and under the View tab, have:

a. Show hidden files and folders - checked
b. Hide extensions for known file types - unchecked
c. Hide protected operating system files - unchecked.

Then you can navigate to the System32 directory. Do all your scans for
malware and manual deletions in Safe Mode.

have Folder Options - View set to show Hidden files, and *not* Hide
Protected mode ones

If it is a file that will not delete because it is in use, a trick is to
r-click rename. (if it is a legit system component a new clean copy
will be restored from the cache). Then close and restart. The renamed
one will not be found, so you can delete it
