Accessing blocked .pst attachment in Outlook 2003

My boss sent me his outlook calendar as a .pst file, but Outlook 2003 has decided that I shouldn't be able to open it. Help! How can I unblock this attachment? .pst is not on the list of banned attachments--how did this end up blocked? Does the size of the attachment matter? If so, how can I fix this

An easy workaround is for him to delete or change the extension before attaching the file. So instead of calendar.pst just calendar or calendar.txt since you know what it is you can rename it and then use it.

..pst files are now on the banned list of attachments. You will need to ask
the boss to rename the attachment to name.ps_ and then you can change it
back when you receive it.

Try forwarding the message. The compose window you get will then allow you
to save the attachment. You don't really have to complete the forward.
