Access97 with WindowsXP

I work for a major company that still uses Office 97
along with Office 2000. Several of our PCs are running
WindowsXP. However, when the IT support team tries to
load Access 97 on the XP machine, it will not work. The
XP machines only work with Access2000. The problem is we
cannot easily convert our 97 databases to 2000 and have
yet to find the expertise to transfer them to SQL.

My question is this: Is there a patch or something I can
do to my WindowsXP machine so it can use Access97?

Thanks for the help,

tony

Access/Office 97 will run just fine on Windows XP. Unfortunately, just
saying Access 97 "will not work" on a Windows XP system makes diagnosing the
problem a bit of a guessing game. Does your IT Support Team report any
error messages?

One problem that is frequently reported in these newsgroups is that,
occasionally, after installing Office 97 on Windows XP or Windows 2000, a
user may receive the following message: "Microsoft Access can't start
because there is no license for it on this machine." This problem is due
to a misbehaving font. The fix for that problem, should it occur, is found
