Access97 Report--Date Sort Order

S

In Access97 a report is linked to a query that sorts the date field in
ascending order. However, the Report displays the data in descending order.
How can I get the report to display the dates in ascending order?

TIA--Stu

Stu,

Grouping and Sorting in a report cancels any sorting in a query used as a
recordsource. Click on the Grouping and Sorting button on the toolbar at the
top of the screen and set the sorting you need in the report. BTW, check out
how Grouping works, you will find a use for it in many of your reports.

Stu,
On a report, the sorting order of your query is "overridden" by any
sorting/breaking done in the report's Grouping Dialog Box.
See if your Date field is in Grouping, and select a Descending sort.

Thanks, Al & PC Datasheet for your prompt replies. Selecting the date field
and Descending sort in the Sorting & Grouping dialog box gave me the
results I wanted.
