Access XP Pro SP3 freezes when I attempt to open reports

I'm having trouble viewing reports within MS Access XP Pro SP3 installed on
my new laptop with lots of storage. OS is Windows XP Home Edition.

Here's what's happening....
This is the first I've ever seen this kind of problem. Cannot find anything
in MS's KnowledgeBase. When I attempt to open report via Preview or Design,
MS Access freezes up, every time! Outline of report dialog box appears,
inside is transparent, and just locks up. There's no error dialog box, just
a complete freeze up. I've waited up to 30 minutes to see if it popped up
later, no luck.

Here's what I've already tried....
1. Repair existing database, same problem
2. Created brand new database from wizards, same problem
3. Used OfficeUpdate from MS site, same problem
4. Uninstalled MS Office XP Pro SP3, reboot, then reinstalled, reboot, same
problem
5. Upon making a copy of the Access MDB file and transferring to another
machine, reports work perfectly on other machines that also have Office XP
Pro SP3

Any suggestions on where to go with this?

I unchecked 'Track Name AutoCorrect info' and 'Perform Name AutoCorrect'

No luck. Still doing the exact same thing as before. :(

report to MS.

Assuming that you have all other patches installed, Jet, MDAC, etc; then it
is probably a Windows problem. Since this is a new laptop, it may need some
patches. They normally don't ship fully patched. Go to Windows Update and
get the patches available there. Also, make sure you have the most current
video driver installed.

Another thought. Can you open the query that feeds the report and get the
values?

Problem solved via another post. I had a network printer at home as default
printer (while laptop was on the network at work). Hence it was hanging up.
Solved by changing default to local printer (also unplugged) but works for
whatever reason. This way I can commute on the train and still view reports.

Here's the post that tipped me off....
Bill,

Have you got a default printer installed? If not install
one (even if it doesn't really exist). Sometimes Access
needs a printer when playing with reports ..... ?????!
