Access violation

I created a new webpage for our school using FrontPage
2002 on an XP machine at home. I burned the web to a disk
and brought it to our school to publish. I copied the
files from the disk onto the C; drive of my computer, but
when I try to open the files to edit them, I am getting
this message "System exception: access violation". The
files are showing that they are "read-only", but they will
not allow me to take the setting off when going into
properties. I went to our school system's county office
yesterday and we had no problem opening the pages on their
computers (which is the main server for all web pages).
Any ideas as to how I can access these files on my machine
(which is the machine I will be publishing from).
Thanks!

Files copied from CDs are read only
Remove all read only attribute from all files / folders in Windows Explorer before you open the web in FP

I've tried that, but unfortunately I still get the same
error message (and it puts the check back in the read-only
box...even after removing it from all subfolders). I've
also tried saving the files on floppy disks since they
shouldn't be read-only, but I get the same error message
when I try to open it.
Any other ideas? I'm about to pull my hair out in
frustration.
