Access versions 2000 & 2003

Hello .... I'm not sure if this is the right Access newsgroup for this
question, but here goes: I have Access 2000 installed on my home computer
but am developing a data base for a computer which has Access 2003 on it. I
read that the file structure is the same between the two versions. My
question: does this mean I can copy the data base back and forth between the
two systems without going through and export process from the 2003 back to
the 2000 vsn.

My data base is pretty simple and straight forward with some event coding.
I am wondering if I need to change any code on the 2000 vsn to be compatible
with the 2003 vsn .. note: all the development will be done on the 2000 vsn
but I will need to copy the data base back from 2003 to 2000. Hope this is
clear and makes sense.

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

The default file format for Access 2003 is the Access 2000 format. That
means you don't have to do any conversion going from one to the other.

Access 2003 will be able to execute any command in Access 2000. The reverse,
however, isn't always true. If you use any new feature introduced in Access
2003 (or Access 2002, for that matter), Access 2000 won't be able to use
them. (Do a search on What's New in Access 2003. If you narrow your search
to Offline Help, it should be the first hit)

Many thanks for your reply and info .. thought that was the case, so
pleased that there will be no conversion involved. Will do the search as
you suggest.

Really appreciate the help.
