access to the internet

John Huston

My company has and Stand alone application written in
access that is located in several different locations. We
want to put this application on the web so that they
connect ot our local database instead of several different
local databases. So I guess my question is: What is the
best way to do put and access application on the web? Is
there away we can keep the forms and reports we have
already created? Is there an application out there that
will convert every thing and make it web ready? If anyone
has advice I would appreciate it. Thank you, John

Hi John,

depends on what version of Access your organisation is
using.

Access 2000 and above utilise 'Data Access Pages' for
intranet/internet interaction. Access 97 can use ASP or
IDC/HTX pages for dynamicaly working with databases. Take
a look at the following Microsoft article for 2000 and
take a look at the Access helpfiles in all versions. You
could also write your own ASP pages to work with your
data. Its a pretty large subject.....
