trojan virus detected in system volume information. I am
denied access. Properties of file show 0 kb. Can not
delete file. XP home edition. Any advice?

Hi,

To gain access, take ownership. Please know that a virus in these folders is
harmless unless you invoke the restore point (yes, these are the restore
folders) that is housing the bug. Left alone, the restore point(s)
containing the bug will eventually be purged

To take ownership: Right-click the folder, select properties. Go to the
security tab and click advanced. You can take control of the folders on the
owner tab. For the security tab to appear in a WinXP Pro system, you must
disable simple file sharing in the control panel/folder options/view tab.
For a WinXP Home system, you must restart in safe mode and logon as
administrator. More details here:

To remove the bug containing restore points, the quickest way is to turn SR
off and back on again. Control Panel/System/System Restore tab.
