Access system folders through Outlook

In Outlook 2000 we were able to create a shortcut to a Windows system
folder...for instance My Documents so messages could be dragged into them
directly.
Now in Outlook 2003 anytime a shortcut is created it doesn't appear to work
that way...opening a separate window in the process.

Is it possible to create a shortcut to My Documents and have it open in the
Outlook window?
Then is it possible to drag e-mails to My Documents without having to open a
second window?

No, Outlook 2003 doesn't have file browsing capabilities anymore. You can
still drag & drop messages out of Outlook into an Explorer window.

Hi David,

Thanks for posting here! And much thanks Roady and Sue for sharing
experience.

I agree with Roady and Sue that Outlook 2003 is not able to include File
System shortcut to point to My Documents folder. Even though you can drag
My Documents shortcut to the Shortcuts navigation pane in Outlook 2003, it
will open the folder in a separate window, not in Outlook. The behavior is
by design. I highly appreciate your understanding regarding this. More info
