Usually, you can hold down the sift key during program startup, and the
"startup" options will be disabled.

It is possible that the original developer also disabled the shift key by
pass.

As a general rule, you use the tools->startup options to set what you want
to occur for the end users.

As the developer, you hold down the shift key..and it by-passes all of the
above options.
