Access / SQL Linked Tables Losing Link

Hi - I have a MS Access front-end with linked tables to SQL back-end. The
link is working properly, but every day when I login again I get an error
that says "ODBC--connection to SQL Server' failed. This only happens after
about 12 consecutive hours without having Access open (i.e. if close /
re-open, the link remains). My question is: how do I keep the Access
database link working so I don't need to re-link the to the server?

Thanks for the help! Best,

If you are using a MDB or ACCDB file with ODBC linked tables then you should
post in a newsgroup dedicated to these like m.p.a.externaldata or
m.p.a.odbcclientsvr as this newsgroup is about ADP and SQL-Server and has
nothing to do with ODBC and/or ODBC linked tables.

Also, you don't describe your installation, the protocol and the connection
string used. Without these informations, it would be hard for anyone to
give some suggestions related to your problem.

Gee, I miss him already. He started off friendly enough but then he confuses
someone pointing him in the right direction/newsgroup with not answering HIS
ALL IMPORTANT QUESTION. Then he goes instant rude. Twice no less.

I bet he makes a lot of friends with that attitude. Perhaps even a future as
a political operative...

Get a life Aaron and try treating people with a little more respect.

Don't forget that fundamentally, this connection problem is *your* problem,
not mine or anyone else problem; so the first thing to do for you would be
trying to spent a little more on your post(s).

Don't expect other peoples to spent their own time working on your problem
if you are yourself not even interested to spend your own time on it.
