Access slow to respond to keystrokes

I am working in Access 2000. The database is slow to respond when making
changes. The keystrokes are several seconds ahead of the resonse. Any ideas?
 
Go to Tools, Options, General Tab and turn off Name Autocorrect on all of
your databases. IMHO it's a piece of do-do and the cause of many problems.
While there turn off Compact on Close if enabled. You'll be glad that you did.

Update and run both your virus and spyware checker. If you don't have
either, get them NOW. Like Ricter said, your company could be running a key
logger to see what your are up to. Spyware and virus programs often do the
same thing.

Do a Ctrl + Alt + Del and bring up the Task Manager. Go to the Processes tab
and see what is using the most CPU. Click on the CPU column heading once or
twice to sort decending. System Idle Process and taskmgr.exe are normal
stuff. If anything else is using a lot of CPU constantly, investigate.
