Access Security and Replication Issue

Biju Mathew

Hello all,
I have a question about Access Security and replication. I have read the
Access Security FAQ and I am about to go thru the Access Replication FAQ
also. I had a couple of minor questions in regard to this matter.

1. IF Im correct first the database is secured and then the replicas of the
database is created.

2. Each site's mdw file would have to be managed if any users or groups are
added.

3. The permissions get replicated over during synchronisation.

4. If I make any changes to any user group or permissions in a database
other than synchronizing is there any other process I have to follow.

5. Last but not least. Is there any FAQ which details with maintaining a
secured database WITH replication.

If I have missed something in the security and Replciaiton FAQ please be
free to say so.

Thanks in advance

Correct. Presumably your database is split into FE/BE, and you are
replicating ONLY the BE (data tables).
2. Each site's mdw file would have to be managed if any users or groups are
added.

"managed" in the generic sense. It is NOT managed by Replication
Manager.
3. The permissions get replicated over during synchronisation.
correct

No. All your permissions should be based on groups -- none based on
individual users.
5. Last but not least. Is there any FAQ which details with maintaining a

Not that I know of.
