Access Report to Word Doc

I have a report that is based on several tables and queries in access
and because of the complexity of information access is better equipped
to handle the report than a word automation file. However, the client
needs to have the report in a word format since they are modifing the
report with additional date from another source. When I print the
document using the Word Tool, it prints to an RTF which looses the
formatting of the report as it appears in the access report. Is there
away around this that would be similar to printing to PDF?

any help would greatly be appreciated.

Exporting an Access report to Word gives a "best effort" output, not
necessarily true to the report at all. There's nothing you can do since it's
a feature builtin to Access. You can either remove the formatting options
that don't output correctly to Word, or output to pdf and then try to find a
pdf-to-Word tool that will be more accurate. A third choice that will
require a lot more programming is to create the Word document directly with
your own code, rather than from the report. A fourth choice is to try and
build the document as a Word mail merge, inserting the retrieved data as
needed.
