Access Problems

I upgraded a Win NT domain controller to a Win 2K domain controller..

The local GPO were configured on the news Win 2K domain controller. The news
Win 2K domain controller has a one-way trust with an external domain..

If the user signs on the external domain, they are ok and can access all the
resource on that domain.. But, when the logs onto the local domain and try to
access the resouces from "My network", they receive a "Logon Failure: User
account restriction" error.. I would like to create a shared folder on the
local domain and have the user access the data on that system.. If, I create
a local adminstrator acccount, that user can access the resources on that
local domain. The local users can not...

Please advise how to do so, if possible...

What does the rest of the error say?? It sounds like the user may not have
the user right for access this computer from the network on the server that
has the share they are trying to access. Open Local Security Policy and go
to local policies/user rights and make sure that user/group [best to use
groups] that is trying to access the share is included in the user right for
access this computer from the network for "effective settings". Users or
everyone could be added the see if that works and then fine tune the groups
added from there. If there is no overriding domain/OU Group Policy for that
user right then you can add then to Local Security Policy and after a
security policy refresh the local and effective setting should be the
same.--- Steve
