hi .

I am trying to access one of my friends shared file at his system. He is in
india and i am at USA. I know his IP address and his system logon password.
But how do i get that file ? i know that his company might also have a
firewall which prevents me accessing that. So if he can turn off the fire
wall for a moment , till i access, should that be fine? I need to know even
without turning off the fire wall, is there any way we can acess the computer.

Please let me know the process of doing that.

thanks

You have many options such as RDC over VPN, Remote Desktop, and VNC. One way or other, you do need to forward the ports. check http://www.ChicagoTech.net for more details.
