Access Problem with Child Domain

I am domain admin for our root domain. I have setup a child domain. When i
go into our child domain active directory users and computers and try to
create a global group it does not allow me to add users from the root domain
or does not allow mw to see them. I can only see the contacts. When i try
to replicate between the domain controllers in the different domains, i get
the access denied message. Also when i check the domains trusts the trusts
between the domains says its not transitive, which I thought it should be.
Is there anything I can change or check

1. Global groups can only contain members from the same domai
2. A Domain Admin has no rights in other domains in the same forest. Consider creating an account for yourself in the other domain, using Enterprise Admins rights
3. Replication between domains/sites needs EA rights
4. Check the domain trusts with EA rights, too. The trusts *are* transitive within a forest
