Access problem using xp pro

My system seems to be working properly doing all that I
ask except when I try to sign on to a site that uses a
sign on Id and Password. I cannot sign on at my bank,
Sprint PCS and the like. I can get to their respective
web sites and use other portions of the page but just
cannot sign on. Can anyone help?
