Access privileges problems

Hello,

I have a Dell Inspiron 8200 running XP home with all upgrades. It's clean
of any adverse software. I don't "play" with my machine but use it.

I have a need to add a second monitor so I went to the control panel and
then display. All the tabs are missing! I have administrator privileges but
don't see the tabs to do the modification.

Further investigation shows that there are a lot of actions I can not take
in many other areas. This is not because I get the message stating I "don't
have the access" but because the choice is blanked out or just not there.

I have spent hours searching through newsgroups and the Microsoft database
but have found no solution.

I will dance at your wedding if you can help!

A couple of things to try..

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/restorealldisplaytabs.reg

Right click .. save Target as

Then Run it >> by right clicking >> Merge.

Or try this..
Try regestering these files ...

Start >> Run >> Copy and paste one by one

regsvr32 themeui.dll
regsvr32 browseui.dll
regsvr32 /i shell32.dll
