Access privat folder

Hi, I just had to reload my windows XP home edition that had crached after i
had tried to uninstall an other programe. Cut a long story short I had made
"my documents" folder privat, and had saved all the digital photos I took of
my 2 1/2 year old daughter taken in the past year in "my pictures" folder sub
folder of "my documents".
The probleme I have, is that now I have reloaded windows I can not access
that folder, what can I do to get to my folders and access those one in a
life time monent immortalised for ever by the magic of a click?!
Please help me, for my heart bleeding at the thought of loosing those
special memories.

You may need to take ownership of the files. Take a look here

"Access is Denied" Error Message When You Try to Open a Folder

Note: In order to use this procedure with Home Edition you have
to boot into Safe Mode. Restart your computer and start hitting
the F8 key as soon as you see something display on the screen.
Select Safe Mode from the menu and logon with an account that
is a Computer Administrator.

thanks for your reply, I had a look at the links and tried follow
instructions, but I came to an other problem, I don't have an "Advanced
settings" anywere. I tried from the tools menu in "my computer" and from the
right click menu on the folder itself, but no joy! It says XP Pro. on that
link, is that why? I have XP Home!

My BAD sorry I had been looking at pages upon pages of help files all
afternoon. I was so happy to find help I think I whent a bit fast at reading
the installation process.
All better Now I have a smile back on my face, Got my pictures back, and a
load more that I had forgotten about!!!!
