Hey guys! What could be the reason why I cannot access the event viewer from
one domain controller to another domain controller in the same domain
running Windows 2003 standard server? I am logged on as administrator.
Thanks for any insight!!

Yeah Me! :)

I originally had this problem trying to access it from my workstation, I am
part of the domain admins group. Here was my situation:

Upgraded 2k to a 2k3 DC. Couldn't access the event viewer from my machine
anymore. Not really a big issue. Over the weekend I upgraded our 2nd win 2k
DC to 2k3. Built up a new server at the same time with backup exec 9.1. used
my domain administrator as my service account. I try to connect to any of my
servers, access is denied.

So then I try to connect from my 1st domain controller to my 2nd domain
controller's event viewer to see what the problem was with backup exec when
I noticed that my 1st domain controller gets an access denied, just trying
to connect to the event viewer on my 2nd domain controller. I can still
access administrative shares C$ D$.

Any ideas???

Thanks!!

off the top of my head, the only thing i can think of at the moment is a
user rights issue
