"Access is denied" but different

I checked out all the similar posts, but my problem is just a little
different. I have a peer-to-peer LAN with four computers, all running WXP
Pro SP2, and all four have their entire C drives shared. I can see all four
computers from EACH OF THEM, and can access any of them from any other, UP TO
A POINT. I can access pretty much everything on each computers drive EXCEPT
folders under "Documents and Settings". e.g. One computer is named
"Upstairs" on the LAN, and has only one user named "Family". From ANY of the
other three computers, if, in Windows Explorer, for example, I browse to
Upstairs in My Network Places, click on "Documents and Settings" (in the left
pane), then click on "Family", I immediately get the error message:

"\\Upstairs\Upstairs_Master\Documents and Settings\Family is not accessible.
You may not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the
administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

Access is denied."

This happens on each computer accessing the equivalent folder tree branch on
any of the others. It happens with ZoneAlarm ON OR OFF. I've tried all the
suggestions in the other, similar, posts, but still have the problem. I need
to be able to access this folder branch in order to set up synchronization
among the Outlook personal file folders (.pst) with each other.

1. On all machines - Folder Options>View tab - disable Simple File Sharing.

2. Create matching user accounts and passwords on all 4 machines. If you
haven't assigned passwords, do so. If you wish a machine to boot
directly to the Desktop (into one particular user's account) for
convenience, you can do this. The instructions at this link work for
both XP and Vista:

Configure Windows to Automatically Login (MVP Ramesh) -
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Autologon.htm

3. Create the shares and on the Security tab, set permissions to Everyone.

Thanks a lot for this solution; I'm going to try it right away, but I do have
one question. When you say "matching accounts", do you mean the same account
name on each of the machines?

You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and
the user accounts/passwords can be different for each user account; they
just need to exist on all machines. Example - If you have three user
accounts:

Owner - [password] 1234
Rob - [password] 4556
Will - [password] 5678

Then create these accounts/passwords on all the computers in the
Workgroup. You can be logged onto Computer 1 with Owner, Computer 2 with
Rob, Computer 3 with Will. When Computer 2 [Rob] "asks" for a resource
from Computer 3 [Will], Computer 3 sees that the request comes from one
of its authenticated user accounts (Rob) and allows the request.
