Hello Forum:

This problem seems to have occurred once I introduced menuing (using the
CommandBar, etc. object model) into our app. Now, when I enter Access
(2000), it gets slower and slower loading with each subsequent launch. The
hourglass appears, sometimes when access appears in the taskbar, sometimes
with access coming up showing the database window (with tables, forms, etc).
In either case, I wait progressively longer before hourglass goes away.
Eventually, the error saying something like, "MS Access cannot find a
component...".

This is becoming extremely annoying and the only way to fix is to merge all
of my chgs from the prev week to a known good version and restarting from
that point. The problem then restarts again.

Ive googled this and looked in the kb and no luck. Any help would be
appreciated.

thanks in advance
Harvey

Well, we assume you installed all the sp bug fixes (service packs...a MUST
do with a2000).

Further, does this occur when you distribute a mde to your users?

And, while we are at this...did you disable track-name
autocorrect...(again..a must do).

Try working your way through the following list...

thank you for these suggestions Albert. I am on the latest sp. I will
repost if and when I've found a solution.
