Access file lock?

How do I remove an Access file lock that is on my BE file. It is preventing
me from doing a compact and repair. It says my database is in use by me.
But, I have is closed and rebooted my PC too. Lock file remains near BE file.

There are a number of ways that Access could have been shut down
incorrectly, leaving the locking file there.

Assuming the BE file is on a server, you may have to have the server
rebooted.
