Access export error

We recently upgraded to Office 2003, except for Access
which is still '97. My problem is that I have Access
programs that export to Excel and I am now getting
errors. When Access tries to open the exported file I get
an error saying "Method "Open" of object workbooks
failed". Then when I try to open the Excel spreadsheet I
get the Excel error "Renamed invalid
sheet name" and it renames the sheet "Recovered_sheet1".
How can I get around this? I have to get my programs
running ASAP!! HELP!

Hi,

I was wondering if you ever solved this issue. We just upgraded to
Office 2003 as well - and I have 30 offices that submit payroll info on
an xls (xl2000) to our office and we now get this same error message -
It does not appear to be any of the other reasons (long internal sheet
names, illegal characters) - and since it doesn't tell me why it is an
invalid sheet name I can't correct the sheets -
