I'm sure it's just a mater of understanding the difference between the two,
but how can I link with Access as I do with Excel's v-link comand? I'd like
to show the information in a form as it is shown in excel. I don't need a
drop down, I want it to add the information to a form as the person types in
an ID # another area of the form should pop up with what that ID repersents.
HELP.....

Thank you

I don't think that the "netiquette" topic on www.mvps.org/access
mentions the following pearl of wisdom, but it should:

When you post an issue into a newsgroup, post it in terms of the
subject matter of that newsgroup; not in terms of any other
application or tool. The volunteers in the newsgroups aren't about to
stop assisting people in the use of their favorite tool in order to go
research references to some other tools so that the knowledge gained
can be brought back and translated.

Describe your issue in terms of the current newsgroup!

So can that be summed up as: When in Access talk Access?

Jas,

I haven't a clue what the so-called "v-link" command in Excel is all about.
If there is such a command by this name, it does not appear to be included in
the Excel Help file, or the Microsoft Knowledge Base....

Although you state that you "don't need a drop down", which I interpret to
mean a combo box, take a quick look at this tutorial and see if it resembles
what you seek:

Combo box to find a record
