Access Error- needs to close

Recently (since the Office 2003 SP3??) when i try to edit almost any report
in my Access database i get an error that Access has experienced a problem
and needs to close, and offers to backup my database, repair it and restart
Access. This happens constantly to the point that i can not work on the
database. It also offers to opens the debugger which then over and over tells
me: Unhandled exception at 0x7c910e03 in MSACCESS.EXE: 0xC0000005: Access
violation writing location 0x07921000. When i look in Add/Remove Programs
there is an Office Pro 2003 (which i installed), an Office Standard 2003
(which i did not) but no Office 2003 SP3... i crossed my fingers that the
Office 2003 Standard was the service pack and uninstalled it, but no
difference. I have 2 computers that have this same problem. Any help would be
greatly appreciated because i am getting nowhere. Oh, by the way- both
computers have Windows XP Pro.

Funny you should ask. MVP John Vinson posted this in another post recently:

There is a BUG - actually several! - in SP3. This is one of them!

You'll need to remove any Format property on any of the fields included in the
combo box. Can't guarantee that it will help, but that's the first thing to
try.

I just had a client who had to completely uninstall Office and reinstall up to
SP2, due to a much worse problem (bogus memory overflow errors on opening any
form in design view).
