Access denied

I cannot access secure sites. I.e Hotmail, banking sites,
Amazon etc. I can get as far as the home pages of these
sites, I enter my account name and password and then am
denied access any further. I keep getting taken to
the "this page cannot be displayed" page.
I've done the logical things like downgrading the
security levels and allowing all cookies on the tool bar
menu.
Any tips on how to get around this blockage?

In Internet Explorer -
1. Tools > Internet Options > Advanced
2. Scroll down to the Security Settings.
3. Make sure that the two boxes are checked that say
"Enable SSL 2" or "Enable SSL 3".
Try your secure sites.

Another thing you can try is:
Go to start/run
Type in: regsvr32 softpub.dll
Press Enter or click OK
