ACCESS DENIED !

G

Guy

Greetings and i wonder if anyone can help me please.

I have just upgraded mobo (abit Nf7), ram(2x 512 corsair
xms 3200 ddr400) and cpu (athlon xp 2.6) and chose to
format one of my hard drives to do a clean install of xp
pro. Whilst doing this i left my other ntfs partitioned
drive unplugged (just personal files etc) The install
went fine and then i plugged in the other drive and xp
recognised it no problem. However when i try and open
folders that i have been working on in the past few
months i receive the f: blah blah is not accessble!
Access is denied message. I have tried everything but i
cant get back into my files! Important work on there.

Ta if u can elp!

If you did not encrypt the files, this should just be an ownership issue.
Take ownership of the files and folders and you will have access again.

Thanks Sharon, have tried that advice before, however it
worked this time because no one else told me to de-
activate simplified file sharing.... VV Grateful

You're welcome. Am glad to hear you found the missing step for getting this
to work for you.
