While vacationing in the states, I thought I would let Best Buy look at my
computer, since I bought my laptop there and had a service plan. The only
thing that was wrong with it was the internal speakers didnt work.
When I went to pick it up this morning, they still hadnt figured it out and
wanted to ship it off. I told them I live in San Juan and didnt' really want
to take a chance of shipping it and plus I use it every day and that I would
just take it back like it was. LIKE IT WAS!!!
so i get it back and went to Barnes and Noble to check email and
whatever...THEY HAD DELETED MY ENTIRE HARD DRIVE!!!!! NOTHING LEFT...NO
PROGRAMS, MY MUSIC...GONE!, MY PICTURES...GONE!!!, EVERYTHING OF MY LIFE IS
ON MY COMPUTER AND THEY DIDNT MAKE A BACKUP!!!!! They told me that they put
everything in the BACKUP file on my computer so i brought it back so they
could restore it like it was, but it said access was denied. they saw that
because i had had a copy of limewire it was preventing them from opening the
file. If everything is in the back up file that they made on my computer,
does anyone know how I can manually open it to get it back. Should I
reinstall the Limewire program if it's connected? Any help is appreciated.

Let's start over.
1) You take your car to the shop to have the radio's speakers fixed.
2) Upon return, they say they need to wait for a part.
3) You say you need the car to get back and forth to work, you'll live
without the speakers.
4) They give you your car, but it is crushed to the size of a steamer trunk.

What would you do?

Me, after fussing like the third monkey on Noah's gangplank, I'd sue them
and everybody they ever knew. (First, though, I'd enquire as to how much
they'd pay me to simply go away. It might be worth it.)

Meanwhile, I'd take the computer to the most experienced, competent,
reputable (and expensive) shop in the hemisphere to get it rejuvinated.
(Hint: In most lawsuits your damages for "pain and suffering" (maybe even
"loss of consortium") are computed at three times your actual damages. It is
in your best interests to run up the bill.)
