access denied

i originally had a password protecting my video file(for obvious reasons)
now i had to do an F10 complete system restore on my computer now..i cannot
get into this folder @ all...i am completely denied access...is there ne way
around this!
i know the original password so if that helps..cool

I also have the problem of "access denied" to the file C:\Documents and
settings\All users\Documents" it is a read only file. I have tried what it is
advised in the links below but I have Windows XP Home Edition and don't have
the security tab. I don't find either the "use simple file sharing
(recommended)" option.

I am Administrator and I've also tried to change the folder properties in
Safe Mode but when I reboot I still cannot get access.

I would not mind so much if it were not because I am trying to download a
programme that goes directly to that file (I have no option to change it) and
therefore I cannot download it.

Can anyone help, please?

I tried again the "safe mode" to change file options and I don't know how,
but this time worked. Now I have access to my file and I could download the
programme I wanted.
