'Access Denied' to old profiles

[Need Help]

Background: hard drives crashed, a new hard drive was
installed as the primary with a fresh copy of windows xp
home.

Problem: when accessing the c:\Documents and
Settings\*username* the error 'Access is Denied' pops up
for all the profiles.


Is there any way to get into these folders either by
taking control of them as an admin, or some other way to
see if any of the data can be restored?
