Access Denied II

T

Teddy

Hello all, I would like to know how modify/delete a folder having files
which when I try modifying/deleting them, I get an error saying "access
denied", is there anyways to delete the whole folder or the files
inside? I'm the adminstrator...

thanks in advance for help

If you are the owner of the file/folder - only then you can modify/delete it.
If you have been given "read only" acess by the owner of the folder - you can
only read it.

A administrator need not be the owner of the folder!

NOTE: You must be logged on to the computer using an account that has
administrative privileges. If you are running Windows XP Home Edition, in
order to have access to the Security tab, you must first start in Safe Mode
and log on with an account that has Administrative rights.

Teddy you have asked this question three times over the past few days.
I answered you just a few hours ago. Have you not seen that response?
If you have and it didn't work then post what happened when you tried.
If you haven't see the response, search for it using Google groups
advanced search.

Then give a better description of the problem and the files/folders you
are trying to delete, including the full location and names of the
files/folders. Do not keep making new posts. Provide full information
in your next post because people who are trying to help you don't want
to play 20 Questions.

Read the information here first:
http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm

In the meantime:

The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the time
things worked and the time they didn't?

The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the
malware/virus status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what
programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?

Different question, same problem. My laptop processor died and i have been
able to use the hard disk in an enclosure. But I cannot access my old private
files and get access denied. How do I sign in to the external drive to get
those files?

Probably not the same problem since this solution apparently isn't
working for the OP. Here is the quick answer for you and if that
doesn't help, please make a new post instead of continuing inside
someone else's thread.

It would have been useful you had provided all the background info to
begin with and posted the results instead of posting a new question.
Makes it hard to help.
