Access Denied Error when accessing data from seperate WinXP Install

Hello,

I copied all of my Documents and Settings folder from my old hard drive
(WinXPHome-NTFS) to my new hard drive (WinXPHome-NTFS). I understand
about how you have to be in Safe Mode to see the security tab in Win XP
Home, but after I change the permissions in both Documents and
Settings, and in Owner, when I try to view C:/Backup/Documents and
Settings/Owner/My Documents, I recieve the access denied error. If I
try to change the permissions in the security tab, a dialog box
appears, stating "You do not have permission to view or edit the
current permission settings for My Documents, but you can take
ownership or change auditing settings." And then there are no users.

Please help me, I need my data back.

Take Ownership of that folder. Login as Administrator from Safe mode (XP
Home)
