Access Database

Why can't Access Database hold more than 255 Characters
It can:

a) a Text field is limited to 255 chars, but a Memo field is unlimited up
to the size of the mdb file

b) a Record can hold up to 2048 bytes, not including Memo fields which only
contribute 8 bytes each (I think)

c) a Table can hold as much information as will fit inside the mdb file

d) an mdb file can hold up to 2GB
