Why not aim your query to newsgroup:-
microsoft.public.access.gettingstarted

I'm sure they would be more helpful, but tend to work 9 -5 only.

Andy,

Have you tried the built-in "Compress & Repair" under Tools? There are
several freeware tools available (and I'd have to look them up to tell you
what they are) but I've found that the Access tools did about as good as the
freeware tools I've found. Certainly not an expert at databases but be sure
you work on a copy just in case it gets mangled when trying to revive the
database.

http://www.ally.ru/downloads.phtml?id=1&page=1&lang=eng - True Access
Repair Program (may not work that well).

http://www.accessdatabaserepair.com/jetcomp.htm - Jet Compact and
Repair. Allows you to use compact and repair without opening the
database, which is what you'll have to do with the Accesses compact and
repair.

Access 97 Only

http://www.matpie.drw.net/PBSystems/products/retired/MDBDeco.html - MDB
Decompiler. Decompiling Access Databases can fix them.

Try connecting to the database from Open Office Base, the new database
element of Open Office.

Try importing the tables into a new database.

If you can open the database, try exporting the file to an Excel
Workbook.
